We’ve got some meaningful news to share. Events East Group, alongside Scotiabank Centre and The Halifax Convention Centre, has been re-certified as a Certified Age-Friendly Employer by the Age-Friendly Institute. This certification recognizes organizations that are committed to creating workplaces where employees aged 50 and over are valued, respected, and supported, free from age bias or discrimination. It is an important milestone that speaks directly to who we are and how we show up for our people every day. Events East was certified in 2023; this renewal reflects our continued commitment to age-friendly workplace practices.

It all began in November 2024 with a phone call from the producers of World’s Greatest, a U.S.-based television series airing on Bloomberg Network, which shines a spotlight on standout companies and destinations around the globe. The World’s Greatest team wanted to know more about the Halifax Convention Centre and why we believed we have what it takes to be named the world’s greatest.

This summer, cameras rolled inside the Halifax Convention Centre as World’s Greatest, filmed a feature naming us the World’s Greatest Convention Centre airing on the Bloomberg Network. The episode highlights our Local Program, our partnerships, and the pride we share in welcoming the world to Halifax.
