Cameras, Conversations, and Centre Stage: Behind the Scenes of World’s Greatest
We Got THE Call
It all started in November 2024 with a phone call from the producers of World’s Greatest, a U.S.-based television series airing on Bloomberg Network that shines a spotlight on standout companies and destinations around the globe. The team wanted to know more about the Halifax Convention Centre and why we believed we have what it takes to be named the world’s greatest.

During the casting process, we shared what matters most to us: showcasing Nova Scotia in every event we host. We spoke about our 100-plus local food and beverage suppliers, our focus on making the Halifax Convention Centre inclusive and accessible for every guest, and the lasting economic impact we have in Halifax and across the province.
We told them our story, and they listened.
It didn’t take long before the call came through... we were the World’s Greatest!
Our dedication to being the world’s greatest comes through in every event we host. Genaya Cameron, Senior Director of Event Operations, sums it up best: “Our diverse teams are committed to delivering service excellence. We’re always striving to wow our guests while empowering our people to collaborate, grow, and continuously raise the bar.”

Lights, Camera, Action!
On June 10, 2025, the camera crews rolled inside our Centre. It was a day filled with energy and a healthy mix of excitement as our team prepared to take centre-stage. President and CEO, Carrie Cussons, Executive Vice-President Suzanne Fougere, and Senior Director of Event Operations, Genaya Cameron, stepped in front of the camera to share what makes the Halifax Convention Centre the greatest. Since opening the new Halifax Convention Centre in 2018, all three executive leaders have played a crucial role in the growth of the business, making our Centre what it is today.
We were also honoured to welcome Premier of Nova Scotia Tim Houston, Minister Colton LeBlanc, Province of Nova Scotia, and Mayor Andy Fillmore, Halifax Regional Municipality, who joined us on filming day to celebrate this recognition and show their support.
More Than a Venue
Since opening in 2018, the Convention Centre has hosted1 ,000 events and welcomed over half a million guests. Along the way, we have generated over $325 million in impact for Halifax and Nova Scotia while putting local food, talent, and partnerships in the spotlight.
As Suzanne shared: “We know our commitment to partnership and collaboration sets us apart and has earned us an international reputation. We’re thrilled to share this story and invite viewers to come experience all that our region has to offer.”
We Are the World’s Greatest!
The World’s Greatest crew captured the heart of what makes Halifax Convention Centre special: the people, the place, and the pride in our community.
