Meet Gordon MacDonald, our new Senior Director of Operations!


What background does Gordon bring?

As an experienced professional with a 20 year career focused on service delivery, Gordon joins the Halifax Convention Centre team with a breadth of hands-on experience leading teams in the areas of catering, culinary and event management.

Gordon has extensive experience in the hotel and convention industry, including roles with the Sheraton Washington, Wyndham Anatole Dallas, Fairmont Royal York and most recently the Allstream Centre, a 160,000 square foot convention and exhibit space in Toronto where he was the General Manager with Centerplate.

How is he helping us get ready to open our Halifax Convention Centre?

Gordon will be working closely with our culinary, catering and event management teams, focusing on customer service excellence and culinary expertise in our new facility. Specifically, he will direct these teams in the planning and implementation of the Operational Transition Program, with a focus on technology and process improvements.
