HALIFAX, April 27, 2017 – Destination Halifax is extremely proud to announce that Halifax will be the hosting city for the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) National Conference and Showcase in 2020.

“We are excited to be hosting CSAE in Halifax in 2020. It’s really a great match and extremely well-timed as we can proudly showcase our brand new convention facility to key association executives and meeting planners from across the country,” said Ross Jefferson, President & CEO, Destination Halifax.

The Canadian Society of Association Executives is Canada’s premiere association advocate. It provides tools, resources, and education to help association professionals and volunteers succeed. From this success, Canadian associations will continue to grow and excel in pursuit of their goals.

“CSAE is thrilled to be holding its 2020 National Conference and Showcase in Halifax. The city is home to one of our regional Networks and is an exceptional venue for Canada’s association community to come together to learn and network,” said Michael Anderson, President and CEO of CSAE. “The event has not been held in Halifax for more than 25 years and we couldn’t be more excited to come back and host it in the city’s spectacular new Convention Centre.”

This conference expects to bring in around 500 delegates, resulting in 1,170 room nights during the 3 day conference from November 4-6, 2020. Continually, this conference has the potential to result in additional business, meetings and conferences based on the delegates, who are meeting planners and association professionals.

“So much has changed and advanced in the city since the last time CSAE was hosted in Halifax. Our growing city has not only acquired new buildings and event spaces such as the Halifax Central Library, Discovery Centre and the soon-to-be-open Halifax Convention Centre, it has also grown up in terms of culinary, shopping and hotel space” said Hélène Moberg, VP Sales, Destination Halifax.  “We can’t wait to show off Halifax!”
